Thesis
Chaanakya Capital is raising $2M to invest in early stage NeuroTech/Neuro-centric MedTech startups with incorporation in the US.
What is Early Stage for us?
Typically Pre-seed.
Seed and Series A with an entry-point valuation of less than $30M.
Often in the first VC round with previous money raised from Angels, Friends/Family, University Tech Transfer and Non-dilutive capital.
What is NeuroTech for us?
Applications of Neuroscience and NeuroTechnologies like Neurostimulation, Neuromodulation, Imaging, Surgical tools, BCI, Robotics.
Typically Devices and Software as Medical Device (SaMD). No pharma/small molecule solutions.
Ideal founding/leadership team?
At least 1 direct subject matter expert. Preferably 1+ PhD in the leadership team. Previous exits are a bonus but not required. Previous MedTech/Regulatory experience is highly desirable.
Strong tie to the problem space either through work or personal journey.
